mobile phones on contract - Bad Credit? No problem!

Apps come in all forms, on all major mobile phone platforms, and in all shapes and sizes. Here are some new announcements and new updates regarding popular and helpful apps.

Skype

Skype is integrated into the Apollo update for Windows Phone Users, but Microsoft, Skype’s new owner, hasn’t necessarily forgotten its primary mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia’s, own mobile operating system, Symbian.

The Skype app has officially been offered in the Nokia Belle update, which leads analysts to believe that the Skype update for Symbian^3 is right around the corner.

The Skype update in Nokia Bell still doesn’t offer video chats, so if the non-visual chat mode isn’t what you’re looking for, perhaps apps like Fring might suit you for now.

Don’t give up hope, though. Microsoft knew how many people have used Skype for video calls before they bought it. Early comments note that a Nokia Belle update to come later will include that video call feature.

CrimePush.com Crime Reporting App

Whilst this app may not integrate with Emergency Services in all countries and jurisdictions, the free app, available on iTunes and the Android Market, allow immediate contact with police in

“tense situations.”

Sometimes, it’s not exactly wise or safe to rush to a pay phone or whip out a smartphone, dial Emergency Services, and talk with a dispatcher.

CrimePush provides that notification without overt demonstration that you have called the police. The co-founder, Eman Pahlevani, states:

“There are other times when inconvenience or fear of reprisal prevents one from reporting an incident. That is when CrimePush is desperately needed. CrimePush allows the more than 100 million smartphone users the opportunity to become the eyes and ears of authorities.”

The app will deliver video, pictures, audio and location information as well as a text description of the crime reported. Additional features allow emergency contacts to be notified of your whereabouts.

The app also works as a medical emergency notification tool, or school authorities and responsible adults can be instantly informed of bullying, vandalism and other illegal or threatening acts.

The company owners state that the app can work with Emergency personnel, businesses, schools, universities and more, although non-law enforcement or medical emergency organisations must enroll in the service to be integrated.
