mobile phones on contract - Bad Credit? No problem!

Today’s mobile news snippets includes a few announcements on apps and upgrades, both in OS and in service plan fields – interesting news all around, we think!

Truly Unlimited Plan Clarified

To the average person, “unlimited” means “without boundaries or limitations.” To the mobile phone or smart phone user, however, “unlimited” means something else entirely.

To those consumers, an unlimited data plan, for instance, means you have unlimited Internet access – until you reach a benchmark. After that, you can still have access to the Internet, so long as you pay an extra fee. Or you don’t stream on the Internet but save that function for your home PC.

Other plans cut off monthly data access without a purchase extension until the next calendar or billing month starts.

For Republic Wireless, however, “unlimited” presented a whole new definition: If you reached their cap restriction, you had unlimited opportunity to find another plan with another service provider. Thankfully, that’s changed a bit.

To fully understand the scope of RW’s change, you must understand that RW networks don’t work exactly like other provider networks. It relies on your home, work or public WiFi and VoiP software to make calls. Only when those three basic connection options are not available, does the user access RW’s communications network.

The drawback is that the cap threshold is only 300 MB on their network. The thinking behind this plan is that most of your Internet or load access is not going to use your mobile phone or will use public WiFi. So consider those outlets first before you arbitrarily use the RW network somewhere else: If public WiFi is available two blocks over, it might be worth the walk.

The benefit to this network priority structure is that Republic Wireless’s plan costs you only $19 per month. Use your talk, text and data options wisely, and this plan might be the budget-buster of the year.
