mobile phones on contract - Bad Credit? No problem!

If you live in the United States and have either already broken your mobile phone out of proprietary jail or have a device you’re considering jailbreaking, do it soon. The 2010 judgement that opened jailbreaking and rooting your device is about to expire.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is not only sending out reminders far and wide about the looming expiration but also sending flares for users, developers and bloggers to appeal to the US Copyright office to extend the ruling.

The EFF successfully petitioned for the legal status of jailbreaking, and they ask for your help in continuing the legality and even extending it to tablets.

They composed a feedback petition with several questions to answer and information you can have forwarded to the US Copyright office and to EFF for trend indications.

For more information or to submit your own input, see EFF’s petition information on their webs.

Absinthe Update

Speaking of jailbreaking, not long ago, we shared the news that iOS 5 had been jailbroken for mobile phones, specifically for the iPhone 4S. The jailbreak is free, but the developers at Dev Team have created a donation fund where all the donations are distributed among all those who helped create the software code.

If you are interested in downloading the most up-to-date version of Absinthe, the download has been moved to a new server for smoother, faster service. For the A5 jailbreak download, visit GreenPois0n.

Over a million people downloaded Absinthe within 36 hours of it being announced, and word is that there is nary a slow-down.

Take advantage of this software while its still available.

If you American users want to protect your ability to venture downloads of other software not limited to the manufacturer’s permission, just think: Absinthe could well have been and could well be banned in the US future.
