As we kick off this Tablet Saturday, we bring you some rumoured news about the Samsung Galaxy tablet that’s been floating around the ether world for a few days. While discussions started about the Galaxy 10.1 Tablet, it floated around to what might be a Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 – a Galaxy-family tablet with an even larger screen.
Whilst some of the information we have been able to ferret out and discern were “definite probablies,” some of it is “possibly maybe” with conclusions based on hints of real information.
One of the central points of the discussion was the probable processor this high-end tablet will possess. Since the processor is key to a device’s operation smoothness and how fully well integrated a mobile device’s functions and overlaps might operate, the quality and capability of a processor is always examined when evaluating a mobile tablet or smartphone.
During the Consumer Electronics Show 2012, a group of individuals were able to play with a device that sported the larger screen and may have contained the new q1uad-core 2GHz processor, and no, that’s not misspelled.
The mobile tablet was reported to house the Exynos 5250 processor, ARM’s newest Cortex-A15 architectured processor that includes the next-gen Mali-T406 GPU.
In a nutshell, the processor is supposed to be the new definition of smooth and fast.
The Exynos 5250 is supposed to have five times the graphics performance than other, earlier Exynos processors. When that capability is combined with a rumoured screen resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels, a level designated as WXQGA, if Samsung delays presenting the Samsung Galaxy S III at the Mobile World Congress late next month, Samsung might opt to present a Galaxy Tab 11.6 in its place.
If they does announce this super-tablet then, Samsung could well beat Apple’s projected resolution in their much-touted Retina display of equal resolution in the iPad III.
And since when does the Korean manufacturer refrain from an opportunity to sam-sung the Apple, dude?
