mobile phones on contract - Bad Credit? No problem!

As February approaches, so does the Mobile World Congress 2012. The annual event is held at the end of the month and always in Barcelona, Spain – so far. We will periodically let you know what attendees might see at this major event. To start things off, here is a sneak peak at some of the rumoured up-and-coming devices that might – just might – make an appearance at one of the most important events in the mobile world.

Lumigon Returns with New Mobile Media Phone?

Last year, Lumigon announced a new Android smartphone dubbed Lumigon T1 that promised some great multimedia features. Unfortunately, that model never saw the light of retailer shelves.

Lumigon apparently went back to the drawing board and either reinvented their smartphone or improved upon it greatly, for they have made another announcement of another handset.

The T1 hinted last year had a 3.5-inch screen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution on an LCD screen and a five-megapixel camera. The Freescale CPU was clocked at 80 MHz, and the handset held an FM radio and A-GPS technology. It was also reported containing an optional Qualcomm HDSPA modem.

While all of those may sound attractive, the ‘real appeal’ of the T1 was the multimedia functions and accessories: Included were an HDMI dock, an FM transmitter and ICEpower audio amplifiers from Bang & Olufsen.

Considering all the advancements in smartphone technology, what will they bring to MWC 2012?

RIM’s BlackBerry 10 OS at MWC

RIM’s new CEO slammed and locked the door against BlackBerry devices holding Android OS, and all devices from the Canadian firm will house the BlackBerry OS 10 from the second quarter of 2012 – if the kinks are worked out of it first.

RIM is scheduled to preview their egg basket operating system during MWC 2012, but Thornsten Heins admits that when developing new technology, there are often

“…bumps in the road,”

…casually dismissing delays as inevitable and basically nothing to be concerned about.

Whilst RIM won’t be introducing any actual device during the MWC 2012, they will be showcasing the BlackBerry OS 10 and focusing on NFC technology and apps connected with their patented BlackBerry Messenger software.

BlackBerry is renown for their business-oriented devices with stellar security, but personal users are clamouring for more speed and a wider selection of apps. BlackBerry has opened invitations for developers to submit other-OS apps for adaptation to the BlackBerry OS 10 software.
