Speaking of rumoured mobile phones, Sony Ericsson hasn’t been sitting on its laurels. While there is no release information or even an announcement regarding this mobile phone, rumours have it that SE is working on finalising a model called the MT27i Pepper.
Let’s take a look at what we’ve discovered.
Overview
The pair of cameras doesn’t have the greatest capability, but the resolution seems above average, and that’s what users want – clear, sharp picture resolution.
The colours seem to pop out based on the very limited glimpses we’ve seen, but we don’t have enough information on the hues holding true on slanted viewing.
Mostly squared corners with barely rounded tips give the smartphone a traditional look that is almost formal; the light casing relaxes that appearance a bit, though.
It appears to have three function buttons on the bottom of the screen area, but we aren’t sure what all of them do.
Looking at the specifications – specifically, the chipset used, it’s entirely possible that the MT27i Pepper will either have Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded or will be slated for upgrade: The NoveThor U8500 is already used in ICS mobile phones. No one yet, however, has snuck out information to confirm or deny that.

Additional comments: The lack of external memory expansion is a drawback, especially when so many of competitors’ earlier, contemporary and future models grant that option. Good resolution but not in the upper tiers for its screen-size class. The continuous autofocus feature for video is an excellent bonus for users.
Not 4G LTE-capable.
Overall opinion: Probably a mid-priced mobile phone, and within that standard and unknown battery life, we’ll give it a preliminary 7.5 out of 10. It’d be higher if there was an option for external memory. This is becoming an important user option as smartphone multi-use grows, but SE missed it on this model.
