There is little that flies faster in the mobile technology industries than rumours and bad news. One source that has an even track record on accuracy of ‘leaked’ information states that the Samsung Galaxy S III or Galaxy S3, will be coming as early as April. This Russian tech blogger stated in a series of tweets that he had a GS III already – in hand – but couldn’t wait for the announcement forthcoming during the Mobile World Congress next month.

No one is quite sure how he got his hands on a working smartphone, but here is a little of the information he leaked. We had his blog translated, and at a glance, we can’t see any post that pertains to the GS III, so we add a layer of scepticism atop the rumour.

The source’s tweet that started the furor read,

“HD resolution, 12 mpx camera, sw tweaks, android 4 – i like my new phone. Eager to see official announcement in Barcelona”

We, of course, cannot vouch for the accuracy of any of this information, but if half of it is almost-true, the Samsung Galaxy S III will pack quite a wallop.

12 MP rear camera. HD video.
Either 1.5 or 1.6 GHz speed with quad-core chip.
Greater battery life.
Android 4.0 ICS operating system
Software“tweaks,” a.k.a., TouchWiz.

Although 12 MP isn’t a break-through capability in smartphones, its overall potential in HD video recording is worth a “hurry up” sign for Samsung. Still, though, that 12 MP mark is exciting, for only a few smartphones carry that capacity. Too bad we don’t know the resolution ratio or the video’s capture speed.

Longer battery life? Who doesn’t want that!

The blogger also stated that the Nokia Lumina 900 will be known as the Lumina 910 when released to European markets.

That’s a rumour we can believe a little more solidly; it’s not unusual to adjust the nomenclature to differentiate markets and slightly altered internal compatibility.
